Monday 29th March 2010 : Le Tour des Ports de La Manche
The Tour des Ports de la Manche, organised by the Granville's Yacht Club, is the most important national boat race of Higher and Lower Normandy. Historically, this event went through two different stages. At first, it was a Manche Tour with only two legs, the first one between Granville and Cherbourg and the second one between Cherbourg and Carentan. After that, the race included other harbours of the department in its itineraries, with shorter legs, leading to a much more important number of boats attending the event.
The new Tour des Ports de la Manche 2010 has been presented during the Paris' Boat Show, on Saturday 5th December, in the presence of President of the General Council of la Manche Jean-Francois le Grand, the Jersey Chief Minister Terrence Le Sueur and Granville Yacht Club's Board team.
This year, for the very first time, the Tour des Ports de la Manche will start up in Jersey.
